Description

This Choir recently recorded a CD in St Augustine’s and they will be “launching” it at this concert. It features sacred music from 18th century Rome, including the world premiere recording of music by Maria Rosa Coccia. The choir will also be acknowledging the 500th anniversary of the Italian Renaissance composer Giovanni Palestrina. The choir is directed by award winning conductor Peter Leech. Given the recent and very real threat of closure to the School of Music this is an excellent opportunity for us to show our support of this historically and culturally important institution.
