Penarth Ministry Area

Loving God, Loving people, Loving Penarth

We are the Penarth Ministry Area - made up of the five Anglican churches in Penarth and Llandough: All Saints, Holy Nativity, St Augustines, St Dochdwys, and St Peters

The Penarth Ministry Area is a collection of people who meet together regularly as we try to live life in a way that reflects the way that God calls us to be. We are made up of both young and old, traditional and modern, liberal and conservative, certain and confused, and we don't always agree on everything - but above and beyond everything we try to be a community that loves each other, and loves God.

Come along and experience the church as a family that will journey alongside you as you discover and live your life of faith.

We are situated just to the south of Cardiff in the Vale of Glamorgan, in the Diocese of Llandaff, part of the Church in Wales.  Our Diocesan Bishop is the Right Reverend Mary Stallard.

We have what is probably the oldest building in Penarth (St Peters Church in Old Cogan), as well as one of the most visible and recognisable landmarks across Penarth, Cardiff Bay and the Bristol channel (St Augustines) plus a wealth of history and fascinating stories tied up in each church.

But more important than any of these things, we are a community of people seeking to follow Jesus here and now.

Children and young people are important to us.  They are an integral and loved part of our church life and worship.  We aim to encourage both them in their spiritual development and their parents or carers in the role they can play to support them.

All Saints Penarth Community Cinema - screening 'The Hundred Foot Journey'. 'All was going well in the peaceful French village with Madame Mallory the proprietor of the Sauce Pleureur the Michelin Star restaurant until an Indian family open Maison Mumbai just across the street...a war of sabotage with complaints to the Mayor and anyone else who will listen. Oh its funny - Helen Mirren is superbly pompous as Mde Mallory and there's some cookery lessons thrown in for free just from watching the film. Helen Mirren was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance. Certificate PG.

All Saints Penarth Community Cinema - screening 'Back to Black'. A celebration of the most iconic - and much missed - homegrown star of the 21st century, BACK TO BLACK tells the extraordinary tale of Amy Winehouse. Painting a vivid, vibrant picture of the Camden streets she called home and capturing the struggles of global fame, BACK TO BLACK honours Amy's artistry, wit, and honesty, as well as trying to understand her demons. An unflinching look at the modern celebrity machine and a powerful tribute to a once-in-a-generation talent.

All Saints Penarth Community Cinema - screening 'The Queen'. Critically acclaimed film of the Queen at a time of great strife. Tony Blair has just been elected ending 18 years of Conservative rule. Shortly after Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris. The Queen's initial reaction is to hold ranks and treat Diana as an outsider but she hadn't realised the landslide of public grief and opinion against this course of action... As we have just passed the second anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's death, this seems like an apt time to look back at the days that made history one week in the summer of 1997. Certificate PG15 - slight strong language.
