Job Title: Young Peoples Ministry Lead
Location: Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (plus pension)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends)
3 Year Fixed term contract with possibility of extension

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Young People's Ministry Lead to join us in the Penarth Ministry Area. This is a leadership role with the chance to shape ministry with children and youth, working closely with clergy, volunteers and local schools to engage young people in their faith.

We are part of the Diocese of Llandaff in the Church in Wales, and this is a unique opportunity to join the Ministry Team in the attractive town of Penarth, one of Wales’s most popular seaside resorts, where you will help grow and develop our work with children, young people and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for ministry with children and youth across the area.
  • Help ensure that our young people and children play a full part in the life of their church 
  • Lead and support volunteers and foster relationships with schools and local organisations.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming environment where young people can grow in their discipleship.
Essential Requirements:
  • A committed Christian with experience working with children and young people (0-18).
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Desire to inspire and motivate children and young people to engage and develop their faith.
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualification in youth work or theology.

Requirements

Essential
  • Experienced in working with children and young people (0-18)
  • A committed Christian, with a desire to develop the faith of children and young people while furthering their own 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Good organisational and administration skills
  • Proficient in using technology/software (eg Instagram, Microsoft Office, etc)
  • Self-motivating 
  • Experience of strategic planning within a ministry
Desirable
  • A Qualification in children’s/ youth work/ theology/ related subject.
  • Experience in leading teams of volunteers
  • A sense of fun and good sense of humour
  • Experience of working in/with Schools
  • Good public speaking/presentation skills
  • A proven track record in developing relationships with organisations outside the Church
  • Experience of managing budgets successfully
